Emphasize Political Correctness in Your EssaysWhen it comes to high school essay topics, you may find the moment you sit down at your desk that you have a dizzying array of options to choose from. You could pick one or two and stick with them, but you have to ask yourself, 'Which of the topics that are being presented are worth the trouble?' By 'worth the trouble', I mean that they are worth your time and are not going to cause you to suffer as much if you put them off.The problem with choosing the topics you should write about is that the chances of anything relating to your personality showing up in the essay are slim. There is no way you can write a three paragraph essay about how much you enjoy watching TV or your hatred for bedbugs. That's too boring and superficial for our purposes.To help you decide on exemplify essay topics, there are a few things to consider. What are your interests? Who are you writing for? Which students do you know well enough to relate to, and which ones do you know only peripherally?My experience is that if the students you are writing about in your examples are your acquaintances, and you have the comfort of knowing them well enough to be comfortable with them, then you should probably write about something they enjoy. For example, if I write a case study about a football player for the football team, and the student is a fan, I'll make sure I share a small part of his passion. If I'm writing about a home worker, I will spend a little more time on the office equipment. The point is, make sure you write about something interesting, because it is the students who read your exemplify essay topics that will appreciate your writing.If you know all the students in your students' school paper, but you don't know them all, then just write about what you know. It will probably be some topic that they are passionate about, so you can talk about it for a long time and have it resonate with them. If you do not have any acquaintances who woul d be willing to be in your examples, then pick one or two who are similar to your students in their interests.For example, if your examples are about high school students who are active in athletics, write about one student who has been known to play lacrosse. It may seem corny, but if you can get that kind of student to write about it, you have something that will resonate with them.When you are looking at the exemplify essay topics for your high school students, be sure that you aren't sharing some serious opinions that may come across as offensive to some of your students. It can be very dangerous to stray from the politically correct writing of the day, and it isn't necessary. Write about an issue that interests you, but do not jump into something controversial. This is particularly true for the majority of the subjects you may choose to write about.One of the most important things to remember when you are reviewing the exemplify essay topics for your high school students is tha t it is not necessary to be politically correct when writing about anything. It is not a competition of 'tolerance' and you should show your students that their opinions are welcome and should be given credence. Have fun!
